Baltic Sea co-operation
Baltic Sea Commission, Committee of the Regions ( CoR), Baltic Sea States Subregional Cooperation (BSSSC) and European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN).The emphasis in international activity is on the Baltic sphere. The Council participates in the realization of the Baltic Sea strategy.
The office in Brussels is also strongly lobbying for the Baltic Sea. The Council also participates in other international project that support the region's development.
The Regional Council of Southwest Finland is an active member in several international organizations: Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR) and its
CPMR and Baltic Sea Commission
CPMR functions as a lobbyist for the peripheral areas towards the European Union.Committee of the Regions
CoR is a political representative that offers regional and local authorities a voice in the EU. The committee was founded in 1994. The European Commission and Council are obliged to ask for a statement if the matter has a local or regional dimension.BSSC

ERRIN is a dynamic network of 77 areas in Europe and their offices in Brussels. All Finnish offices in Brussels are members.
