The regions of Southern Finland (ELLI)
The South Finland Regional Alliance is a co-operational organisation for the Regional Councils of South Karelia, Häme, Itä-Uusimaa, Kymenlaakso, Päijät-Häme, Uusimaa and Southwest Finland.
According to the vision of the Alliance, Southern Finland will be a high-level business centre in the Baltic Sea Region.
Southern Finland will be developed on the basis of strengths and specific features in different regions. Important matters are put forward by creating networks according to the subject matter and geographical location - and also across national borders.
From 2010 onwards, the function of the alliance will change remarkably. The co-operation continues, but in a more moderate way.
